Join GAAMC's members and other friends for our first outing of the season!  We will visit the lovely Luna Stage, on Valley Road in West Orange for the last night of previews before this exquisite play's opening night. 

As the African nation of Malawi erupts in riots around them, American aid workers Jack and Ericka take shelter in the storage room of a struggling NGO. Half a world away, Malawian student Gilbert and his gay co-worker Chad begin another day in the back room of a Manhattan florist. This powerful new play explores the challenges of international aid across interpersonal borders, and how we bridge seemingly impossible cultural divides.

The cast and director will return to the stage after the show to host a talk-back with the audience.  We will discuss the themes of the show, which may include LGBT rights on the continent of Africa.

GAAMC is not buying a block of tickets for this event.  Instead, all guests must purchase their tickets directly from Luna Stage.  Just follow the link that appears after you click the RSVP button.

Care to sup?  Before the show, a group of us will be gathering at one of Essex County's best-kept secrets, El Palacio del Pollo, an authentic Peruvian bar and grill that specializes in rotisserie chicken.  It is a super-casual, family style hangout with a friendly staff and great food at affordable prices.  If you plan to join us, please try to arrive between 6:00 and 6:15 PM.  Reservations aren't required, but it will be the dinner rush, so an appropriate amount of time should be built into your schedule.  Click on the image below to visit El Palacio del Pollo's page on Yelp.
