Transgender Day of Remembrance 2021

Transgender Day of Remembrance takes place each year on the twentieth of November. Organizations large and small, all around the globe, honor the memories of those we've lost to violence. Some commemorations are sorrowful, some educational, and some are joyous celebrations of lives lived rather than a focus on loss.

This year, GAAMC will honor the transgender members of our community whose lives were cut short, by reading aloud some of their names. Since many crimes against the trans community go unreported, we know this will be an incomplete list.

As of November 4, 2021, we know of at least 43 transgender women and men who have been killed so far, this year.

After the reading we will present four short TED Talks by transgender speakers who shared varied perspectives of transgender life.
