Our doors will open at 6:30 PM, as we begin to set up for the evening's events.
At 7:00 PM, anyone interested may participate in Open Talk in our Library. This week, the discussion will be led by President Gordon Sauer.
From 8:00 - 8:10 PM, we will have a short intermission for refreshments, stretching, mingling, etc.
At 8:10 PM, we will gather for a very special presentation by veteran GAAMC speaker and storyteller, Tim Tyler. He returns to educate us about the Equality Act, which was recently passed in the House of Representatives and is now in the Senate. A Realtor® by trade, Tim will tell us what the Equality Act is and how it impacts us, in our homes and where we live.
As a member of the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals, Tim will focus on LGBT and fair housing and compare New Jersey’s laws against the nation’s. Highlights from a survey by Iowa State University, just released in April will shock the senses with its scale of mortgage denials and other forms of bias.
Tim will bring his message home by shedding light on discrimination in housing: what to know, what to do, and where to turn.
The following video explains a little bit about how HRC and NAGLREP are working together, and show some of the powerhouses of activism share their strengths, wisdom, passions and other resources.
