Special Appeal

For decades, GAAMC has reached out a supportive hand to neighbors in and out of the LGBTQ+ community. For decades, our members and friends have joined our efforts. Here is your newest opportunity to help!

In response to food insecurities caused by the pandemic, Chatham United Methodist Church started handing out food and other essentials to the needy from their parking lot. Nearly 120 weeks later, the demand is still overwhelming and unrelenting.

To do our part, we are asking for donations to be dropped off at GAAMC meetings throughout the month of August, or left in the collection boxes in the Great Hall any time the building is open.

Here is a list of some of the needed items:

Dry Pasta
Jarred/Canned Pasta Sauce
Rice
Dry Cereal/Oatmeal
Tuna
Canned or Dry Soups
Peanut Butter & Jelly/Jam
Vegetable Oil
Salad Dressing

Toothpaste & Toothbrushes
Mouthwash
Feminine Hygiene Products
Shampoo & Conditioner
Bath Soap
Deodorant
Shaving Cream

Baby Food
Formula
Baby Diapers
PediaSure

Toilet Tissue
Paper Towels
Facial Tissues

ShopRite Gift Cards
Bags & Boxes (for distributing donations)

To ensure compliance with local Board of Health regulations, we ask that only non-perishable items be donated, and that you double-check expiration/sell-by dates. No expired food may be distributed to the public.

Checks made payable to “Chatham United Methodist Church” with “COVID Food Relief” in the memo field, may be dropped off at GAAMC, or mailed directly to the church at 460 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928.

IF YOU NEED HELP please visit Chatham United Methodist Church (460 Main St., Chatham) on Wednesdays, between 2:45 and 4:00 PM. Donations are confidential, and no form of ID or registration is required. Just show up and ask.

GAAMC will be collecting donations throughout the month of August. A volunteer will transport donations from Morristown to Chatham every Tuesday for sharing on Wednesday.

Financial donations may also be made directly to the church via credit card.  DONATE HERE!
