Mother's Day

Did you realize Mother's Day is of ancient pagan origin? Did you ever think the "Mother of Mother's Day" was once arrested for protesting the holiday she worked so hard to add to our national celebrations? Do you know the white carnation is the "official Mother's Day flower?" Woodrow Wilson declared Mother's Day a national holiday May 9, 1914. These and many other interesting facts will be revealed in exploring the third most popular card-giving holiday of the year. Join us to view some videos and share your memories of your mother. Refreshments are served, and members often go out afterward to a local diner. A donation (whatever one can afford) is requested.
