We all know the name Marsha P. Johnson. We all know the name Sylvia Rivera. We have all heard the statistics regarding violence against the trans community, especially trans women of color. But, collectively, we may not know enough about the history and influence of trans warriors, who fought for our rights with their blood, sweat, tears, jobs, homes, and lives. Learn anew, about the rifts between the "middle class gay white men" and the trans communities of color during the early days of the gay liberation movement...on the heals of the civil rights movement. Join us as we view the 2017 documentary "The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson."
With photos, video clips, interviews of every level of society spanning a half-century, this film realigns our historical perspective.
