Weekly Meeting

Doors will open at 6:30 PM

Liz Slicer will lead our weekly Open Talk discussion in the Library, from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM

8:15 Until 9:30:  FREECYCLE FRENZY!
We all have items in our homes that are “perfectly good” but that we no longer need or want.  What is a conscientious Earthling to do?  Rather than putting the “fill” in “Landfill”, let’s bring our stuff to the Terrace Room and share it with one another?  This is the perfect place to start making change – charity really does begin at home, right?  Right!  Bring your new or gently used items to GAAMC tonight.  We’ll have tables set up where you can deposit your items.  During the break, we’ll all enjoy a freebie shopping spree, courtesy of our friends!

Pledged Items:

* Music CD's (Prince, Jerry McGuire Soundtrack and more)
* Frying pans
* Candleholders
* Wooden Hangers from IKEA
* Panasonic KX-TGA650B 2-line cordless phone handset (must be mated to base to work)
* Braun Tassimo Coffeemaker (like new)
* Slingpack
* Video Blackjack game (brand new, in box)
* Sport Teasers (7 sport-themed peg games in one steel tin, new)

Recommended items:  radios, pots and pans, fans, giftwares, games, movie DVD's, reusable shopping bags/totes, working computers and tablets, like-new clothing, USB thumb drives.  We'll refine this list as the event draws nearer, and we will also list the items people have pledged to bring.

We are speaking with a few organizations who may wish to join us in this event.  Any items that are not taken may go back home with you or will be donated to another organization who may use them.

MtPleasantLogo.jpgTOWELS, BLANKETS, AND LINENS:
Animal Shelters desperately need a CONSTANT stream of towels and other linens to care for our furry friends.  GAAMC has reached out to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover, who has made multiple presentations at GAAMC, and they would love your donations.

The following video does not feature our members, nor is that our date.  However, it is quite well done and explains the concept of freecycling pretty darn well.
