Volunteers from GAAMC are thrilled to participate in the creation of the all-new LGBTQ Pavilion at Morristown's Community Health Day.  This is the 24th year for Community Health Day, a massive joint effort between Morristown's spiritual community, Morristown Medical Center, and many, many community groups throughout Morris County.  

If you have never been to Community Health Day, you are missing quite a bit!  It is free and open to ALL!  The offerings are far too numerous to list here, but a brief overview would include dedicated pavilions for Youth Health, LGBTQ Health, Senior Health, and Spiritual Health. 

The day will kick-off with a Health Walk being organized by the Morris County Chapter of The Links, Inc.  Registration will open at 8:00 AM, on the Franklin Street side of the medical center, outside the Goryeb Children's Hospital.  Walkers will start at 8:30 AM from the hospital to Headquarters Plaza.  Transportation for walkers back to Morristown Medical Center will be provided. 

There will be free health screenings for Blood Glucose, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Hearing, Oral Cancer, Respiratory Functionality, Foot Health, Vision, HIV, Bone Density, Wheel of Health, Dermaview and more!  

For free health services, no registration is necessary, and no insurance is necessary.  

There will be performances by children's mimes, violin classes, religious choirs, and dance companies.  

In the inaugural LGBTQ Pavilion, this year's participants will include GAAMC, SAGE, EDGE Pride Center, Rainbow Cafe Morris, Morris County LGBT Immigrants, Morristown Pride, and more.  If you have a medical practice, an accepting and affirming congregation, or a social group who would like to join the pavilion, please email Andy Skurna at [email protected].   

There will also be volunteers on hand to translate Spanish/English.
