Join our happy chatters in the library at 7:00 PM for our weekly Open Talk discussion group. Open Talk will run until approximately 8:00 PM, when we take a 10 minute intermission.
At approximately 8:10 PM, meet local lesbian author and photographer, Cara Cilento, who comes to GAAMC to share her new published book Snapshots: Say Cheese!
Cara Cilento grew up in a small suburban North Jersey town. Her family of origin did not. Cara’s grandparents were a combination of Italian immigrants and first generation Italian-Americans. They were a close-knit family that lived in Newark, NJ and who pushed academic and personal success. Most of all they pushed assimilation.
Cara Cilento came out as a lesbian later in life and hasn’t looked back. She is undeniably proud of the LGBT Community and it shows in her everyday. Cara Cilento is a divorced mother of two boys and three dogs. She has been a speech therapist for over twenty years in various public schools. Currently, she lives in suburban North Jersey. Snapshots: Say Cheese! is her first published book which has taken a lifetime of experiences—traumatic, joyful, abusive, healing and reaffirming—as her muse.
Books will be available for purchase at this event.
If you are unable to attend, but would still like to purchase your own copy, or if you'd like to read your copy in advance of meeting Cara, Snapshots is available on Amazon.com in both Kindle and paperback editions.

GAAMC is open to friendly people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We are an all volunteer organization that survives on the donations made by our members and guests. To help offset expenses, we suggest a donation at the door of $5 for dues-paying members and $7 for non-members. But, as a community service organization, we don't turn away those who cannot or choose not to make a donation.
